Sic transit gloria mundi

During our one of our trips to Puerto Rico, we ventured into Castillo San Felipe del Morro. I had been practicing my compositions and was attempting to see the world around me and not simply look. The day was very bright and although I had my camera with me, I had no hope of any fine photos. Then we turned a corner and this sight presented itself almost as if on an easel. It was beautiful. I asked my wife, with a hit of awe, “Do you see it?” as I raised my camera and positioned myself carefully. I’ve yet to reproduce this feeling when making other photographs and this one remains one of my favorites. I want to share it with you.
